Submission by Delegate

All applicants must submit their own applications in person. Under exceptional cases where a delegate's submission is deemed necessary such as for illness or hospitalization of an applicant, the applicant's spouse, parent(s), child(ren), grandparent(s), or grandchild(ren) can delegate the visa application on behalf of the applicant. All other family members or relatives cannot act as a delegate. The eligible delegate must bring all required documents listed below. If any of the below required documents are missing, the application may not be submitted.

  • Your (the applicant's) official ID with a photo of your face issued by the government
  • The delegate's official ID with a photo of the delegate issued by the government
  • Family reference document of the applicant or the delegate
    • This is required to prove that the applicant and the delegate are direct family members that fall under the above categories.
  • Delegation of Authority Letter including both the reason for the delegate's submission; and the personal details of the applicant and the delegate
  • Where an applicant is a minor (below 17) and the delegate is not a parent of the applicant, the Delegation of Authority Letter must be notarized.
  • Caveat: Even when the visa application is submitted by a delegate, the applicant oneself must sign on the Visa Application Form. (For the persons under 17 years of age, a parent or a legal guardian can sign the visa application form on behalf of the applicant)

Processing Time

Processing time may vary depending on:

  • Visa type;
  • Complexity of the documentation;
  • Completeness and accurateness of documentation and provided information;
  • Need for interview; and
  • Seasonal demand.

Upon receiving visa application documentation from KVAC, the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Mongolia requires 14 working days to process a visa application. The exact processing time may vary depending on the visa type. For example, a family member of a marriage migrant visa (F-1-5) may take one month from the date of application for processing. A marriage migrant visa (F-6) may take two months from the date of application for processing. Depending on the circumstances, it may take more time. On the other hand, single visas are valid for 90 days before the expiry date. Please consider both the processing time and the expiry date of the visa when you plan to apply. It is highly recommended to submit the application well in advance of the planned departure date.
