Visa processing times may vary depending on:

  • Visa type;
  • Complexity of the documentation;
  • Completeness and accurateness of documentation and provided information;
  • Need for interview; and
  • Seasonal demand.

Upon receiving visa application documentation from KVAC, the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Mongolia requires 7 working days to process a visa application. The exact processing time may vary depending on the visa type. For example, a family member of a marriage migrant visa (F-1-5) may take one month from the date of application for processing. A marriage migrant visa (F-6) may take two months from the date of application for processing. Depending on the circumstances, it may take more time. On the other hand, single visas are valid for 90 days before the expiry date. Please consider both the processing time and the expiry date of the visa when you plan to apply. It is highly recommended to submit the application well in advance of the planned departure date.

In case of emergencies, the Embassy may consider expediting the process provided there is a reasonable and attestable reason. Please provide a detailed explanation when submitting the application. Hereby, reasonable and attestable reason means the case where the need to travel is unexpectedly raised due to an emergency, for example, for humanitarian purposes. Applying for a rapid processing request to fit into a personal schedule such as the flight schedule or a business meeting cannot be regarded as reasonable. It is the applicant's responsibility to apply for visas early enough in consideration of the visa processing time.
